Have you seen these around? They’re on Pinterest and I’ve seen them in some ads too. They are so stinkin’ cute I just had to try making some! The big game is this weekend, so if you want something fun and tasty, check out all the Lil’ Smokies Party Animals here on Pinterest. They have football players and footballs, but they also have some other really cute ideas like Rockapuppy and King Pup!

I’ve always been a Hillshire Farm fan, we LOVE their bratwurst and italian sausages, so buying these little finger sausages is a no-brainer. The football players, otherwise known as “quarter pups” have olive helmets and mustard face masks! Check out the video below:

Cute! These little guys are great for any party, but the big game is a perfect time to “play with your food”!

I made the little footballs, but didn’t use mustard, just little cheese pieces for the laces. It’s super simple. Just cut the cheese into thin strips and wrap it around the warm sausage and the heat helps the cheese stick to it.

I used Mozzarella slices and cut them thin. I also used a toothpick to pick up the small pieces and place them on the sausages as laces.

Because they are all crowded together in the package, they look a little squished when you first open them up.

But don’t worry, once you heat them up they get plump again.

See? Cute. :)

You really have to go check out all the different ideas they’ve come up with! And enjoy your Sunday game!
